
Communication Essentials
Studies have found a strong relationship between the levels of communication in an organization and job performance and satisfaction. Organizational communication can be formal or informal, by communicating through email, phone call, report, face to face conversation, etc. Thus, it can be said that “effective communication is a building block of successful organizations”. In other words, communication acts as organizational blood.
However, how many times have you heard that as an explanation for project failures, disgruntled employees, delayed project, unmatched expectation, unsatisfied delivery and departmental conflict? Effective team communication lies in the accuracy of formulation, with less “noise” as one determinant of success. The “noise” such as functional areas not collaborating, expectations are not clear, employee are not open to each other, communication hampered by distance between units and unclear vision and mission.
In this module, “communication essentials” aim to rebuild the communication system, connecting between departments as well as individual, to understand the company objective as well as colleagues’ personality. Through this activity, participant are introduced DISC assessment, and also to learn how to solve conflict in their team.
